You Watanabe is a pretty energetic and cheerful person. Out of everyone in the Aquors group, she tends to be the most positive about everything, including their failures. When Chika and You kept being denied permission to be able to form their club, You helped Chika with encouragement that they could make it happen. They just had to figure out how. You’s energy and enthusiasm is also very contagious. Whether it’s taking pictures with potential fans when they were passing out fliers for their first concert, or her fellow group members, it’s difficult not to smile and laugh when she’s nearby. Her energy translates into her dancing as well. She tends to be bouncier and more expressive with her moves.

She’s focused and driven to achieve her goals, such as with her dream to become a ferry captain. You throws her all into being an idol as well since it’s become one of her goals to help Chika and the others to get more students to sign up to attend their school in the future.

You is very caring and loyal towards her friends. She likes to make sure they are okay, such as when she and Chika go to visit Kanan to see if their friend and her father were doing okay. Her loyalty extends to all the girls in the same way, with the exception of Chika. Her best friend gets the highest amount of loyalty from her since they have been together since childhood, and You had always wanted to do something with Chika that the both of them would be passionate about, like she had told the other girl when they were kids.

There have been a few times where it shows that You can be insecure. It mostly revolves around her friends and feelings that maybe she isn’t as important to someone as she thinks she is, such as with Chika in regard to Riko. You become jealous of Riko when she thinks that Chika prefers the other girl over her, which is made even more obvious when Mari finds out that You and Chika started the group together. She has a hard time voicing these feelings or anything that resembles negativity and will hold onto those feelings until she has to confront them, which leads to her breaking down and crying.

Her displays of temper are usually more of a comical effect than serious anger. There are a few exceptions to this, such as when she snaps at Chika after the other girl comes to see what was wrong with her after Mari talks to You about her jealousy towards Riko. A more comical side of her temper that's shown is when Mari gropes her and You responds by tossing her out of anger.

She can be rash and do things without thinking them through all the way or at all. She didn't even think fully about what being an idol would be like before she jumped at the chance to do it with Chika, having to assure the other girl that this wouldn't interfere with her swim practice after she took a moment to think about things. She will say what's on her mind without a filter at times, which usually comes out in almost snide like comments particularly towards some of Yoshiko's antics.

You is both dedicated and stubborn. These two go hand in hand with her since it can be hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. She is dedicated to being an idol to almost a stubborn fault. She is stubborn about their training for shows and in general that it seems more like dedication. She goes all out either way.

[You was quite content just looking at the ocean. Hearing the water and the seagulls, smelling the salt and heat on the breeze. It was wonderful. She strangely felt at home here on the beach. Not that she didn’t love living in the temple of her god. No, she would have a hard time picking one over the other. In the end her god would win out. Her god was someone who needed her to be there for them and to help those who couldn’t help themselves.

Or so You keeps telling herself.

It was still so frustrating to think that she was supposed to be dead. How? She feels and looks alive! All the other shinki looked alive as well. Yet that’s where her anger with the situation ended. She, just like the others, has a job to do, and she would do it well!

You stands tall and puts her hands on her hips as she takes a deep breath of the fresh sea air. She’ll calm herself down before going back home. You had been told all about how strong feelings could possibly sting a god, and causing her god pain would be awful if it could be prevented.]
